Background: Merrill bonded with Adahlen when he was still a Nincada on her way to Union. He's a bit distractible since he's always picking up sounds from far away, and often buzzes off to investigate them ahead of his team as an advance scout.

Background: Lyrium's gems are shinier and sharper than most Carbinks, and because of this and its serious personality, it became the ringleader of a small group of its kind in the Caverns. It respects Merrill for her strength, but easily becomes exasperated with her more carefree nature. It forms opinions of new people very quickly and is capable of holding a grudge forever.
Background: Elgar is the shell left behind when Adahlen evolved. Since Shedinja don't move except to float around, Merrill nearly left it behind, but it followed her home. It's hard to read Elgar's expressions unless you can talk to Pokemon or sense their feelings, but he's just as happy and carefree as Adahlen - he's simply incapable of showing it on the surface.
Background: Mahariel is a bit of a diva, and is extremely obsessed with her appearance and looking good at all times. She tends to get distracted by aesthetically pleasing things, and often has to be jolted back to attention. As a matter of slight concern, she seems to have adopted Smookers as 'the ugly friend' and keeps her around to make herself look better by comparison.
Background: Shem is very friendly and loves to play, and can turn just about anything into a game. He mistook Merrill's staff for a large throwing stick when she was exploring the Flower Grove, and started to follow her around as it was more interesting than chasing its tail. After a month of tender loving care, Shem has evolved into Sylveon, and it's only gotten more lovey-dovey as a result.
Background: Alas is the most adorable ground pig you could possibly imagine and thrives on attention. It's prone to jealousy and also fiercely defensive of Merrill. It doesn't get along with her other Pokemon too well, and this personality may not work out so well when it's a less adorable Mamoswine.
Background: Lockjaw is generally gluttonous and enjoys putting all sorts of things in its massive jaws. It will chomp down on anything that remotely resembles food. On the plus side, this means its Bite attack is stronger than ever. Merrill unfortunately strongly resembled 'food' when they first met, and spent a good several days having to bandage her feet while training it to evolve.
Cuddleclaws Excadrill (♀) Lv. 67 Sand Force Docile nature. Met in Deep Mines. Met at Lv. 26. Drilbur is highly curious. Evolves into Excadrill at Lv. 31.
Background: Cuddleclaws has a poor sense of direction has a tendency to wander off. Coupled with its incredible digging ability, it can end up in some very strange places sometimes. Cuddleclaws is sweet, though, and enjoys being held and coddled like a child.
Background: Bouffalant is all about its hair. If you could call it that. Its afro is allegedly more bushy than any other Bouffalant on the plains and he is very proud of it. He spends at least a half hour a day attending to it (although what a Bouffalant does to attend to hair is hard to say).
Background: When Merrill met Solas, it was scrappy and eager to fight and train. Unfortunately, however, it has no preservation instinct whatsoever and will happily leap in to wrestle something ten times its size. She has to keep a close eye on it when they're out adventuring, worried that it may not live long if it keeps acting so reckless. When not fighting, though, it is friendly and gregarious.
Background: Flametongue enjoys basking in the sun. If left to its own devices it will nap for hours. It takes it a bit to get going and hates to work in general.
Background: This is the Spiritomb that Merrill bargained for power with in an attempt to recover her people's lost heritage. Unbeknownst to her, it had lied to her when it claimed to know of Arlathan, interested only in its own freedom. The two remain bound together by Merrill's blood magic. Although their original deal was broken, Merrill has struck a second bargain with it: to help her find the ancient Pokemon her people tried to bind so long ago, promising her body to the ghost should she die along the way.
Background: Drippy hatched from the egg Merrill got from Citadel after the Heatran battle. She is a well-behaved Pokemon who is eager to please and happy to take instruction. Drippy prefers playing games over fighting, and always tries to get Merrill's other Pokemon involved, as it wants to see everyone getting along.
Background: Sulahn is a busy, cheerful worker and is constantly flitting to and fro to attend to people's needs. It can get a little much, though, as Sulahn is the type to become so overly concerned that you kind of wish it would just leave you alone for ten minutes.
Background: Revas was born to Shem, Merrill's Sylveon, in the Breeding Center. He inherited his father's impatience and lack of concentration, but has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and is more eager to pick fights. Shem takes babysitting duty when Merrill isn't around, his quick reaction time coming in very handy for stopping Revas from biting off more than he can chew.
Background: Lath believes itself to be something of a fortune teller where matters of love are concerned. It's taken on Merrill as its pet project and is constantly telling her love fortune with any fetching man or lady who happens to pass by. The fortune is almost always favorable - Lath is of the opinion that Merrill is not in a state in which she can be choosy.
Background: Durgenis truly at one with its state and thus tends to forget it it capable of moving. It keeps thinking it is the lynchpin of a great reef that spans the vast oceans and as such cannot be moved.
It's actually a bit on the light side, however, so moving it is fairly easy.
Background: This Yamask seems to remember a bit more than the others, for which it also appears to be extremely traumatized. It tends to spend most of its time in the fetal position rocking back and forth, muttering to itself. It will occasionally have violent outbursts.
Background: Because of its odd coloration Pumpkaboo has gotten it into its head that it is rather unique. As such, it tends to think of itself as deserving of special treatment and attention. Pumpkaboo really likes clothing, often of the expensive variety, and favors the color purple. Because it is itself purple, you see, and because the color is so unique and special it requires the finest clothing in purple.
It is not fond of being refused. Doing so would be... unwise.
After wandering around Union and hanging around the noble quarter for about a week, Pumpkaboo came home calling itself 'Viscount Dumar' and insisting on being referred to as such by Merrill, her other Pokemon, and anyone who would listen. He's not sure what a Viscount is, but he's convinced it's better than Count because it's a longer word. And as a fancy gentleman and Pokemon about town, he is deserving of only the most noble of titles.
Background: Falon is less fearsome than its appearance would indicate and actually enjoys physical affection and touch. Sadly, this generally results in puncture wounds for anyone on the receiving end of Falon's love. It is perturbed by the fact that no one allows it near baby Pokemon.
Background: Vhen'alas is extremely fond of gems, like most Sableye can be expected to be. She is also a kleptomaniac, which most Sableye probably should not be. This combination leads to unfortunate things happening at an alarming rate around Merrill. Due to its Ghost typing, it can get away with quite bit...
Background: Samahl fancies itself a musician and likes to come up with its own songs, using the constant pace of its hopping to keep tempo. As such, it can usually be seen bouncing at different speeds and singing.
Background: Hellathen is an extremely ambitious Pokemon, driven to seek out power through training. It's a handful, certainly, and this is all due to a deep seeded trauma over losing it's parents. They were killed under mysterious circumstances, and it's dedicated it's life to getting tougher and finding the killer. However, when it isn't engaged in this mission? It's kind and sweet, even a bit of a prankster.
Background:
Vhenan is a hugger. Oh, it is seriously a hugger. It never, ever, ever wants to leave Merrill's side, and it will latch on whenever it's given the opportunity. Including if she's in the middle of something private, or busy with something important that requires concentration. A real glomp-machine.
Background: Vhenadahl is a true blue hero. Whenever someone seems to be in trouble, here it comes to save the day, barreling through doors, windows, people, carts, cabbage patches, and whatever else might be preventing it from its stated heroic mission. It's stoic and quiet, and unyielding in this ideal that humans need to be protected, particularly women and children. And it may occasionally follow Merrill without being attuned to the Warp Band because she in particular seems to need quite a lot of protecting.
Background: Enaste loves things cold, and has agreed to come with Merrill with the express desire to further spread the frigid gospel. It loves to show this by giving people icy hugs, because the best way to cool someone off is by warming their heart. Really, Enaste is a very sweet pokémon all told, but it isn't the most in-tuned with what deems normal climate control. If a room is too warm, it will try to cool it down. And what is too warm? Generally anything slightly above freezing.
Background: Renan is a pretty angry little Pokemon with a fondness for music. In fact that seems to be about the only thing that really makes it happy when it's indoors, and otherwise it makes a horrible ruckus and sprays leaves everywhere. It's perfectly fine in the outdoors or on the road, but if it's stuck inside without some melody somewhere look out for Razor Leaves...

Background: Because of its odd coloration Pumpkaboo has gotten it into its head that it is rather unique. As such, it tends to think of itself as deserving of special treatment and attention. Pumpkaboo really likes clothing, often of the expensive variety, and favors the color purple. Because it is itself purple, you see, and because the color is so unique and special it requires the finest clothing in purple.
It is not fond of being refused. Doing so would be... unwise.
After wandering around Union and hanging around the noble quarter for about a week, Pumpkaboo came home calling itself 'Viscount Dumar' and insisting on being referred to as such by Merrill, her other Pokemon, and anyone who would listen. He's not sure what a Viscount is, but he's convinced it's better than Count because it's a longer word. And as a fancy gentleman and Pokemon about town, he is deserving of only the most noble of titles.
