Background: Crookbeak is one of the Pokemon Merrill bonded on her way to Union. He originally felt sorry for her and came along to serve as a strong protector. Now that she's on her feet again he's sticking around out of a sense of loyalty, and considers her other Pokemon his responsibility as well. He's also a bit fussy, expecting politeness and respect out of other Pokemon and becoming borderline violent when he doesn't get it.
